Dream Act SHOULD NOT Be Part Of Democratic Platform At Convention

Watching CNN this morning saw where there is a push amoung those in the Democratic Party who support AMNESTY for Illegal Aliens to see the Dream Act and its passage put into the Democratic Convention Platform...I disagree strongly with this position, and find it more than unsettling that either party panders to a group (any group) that represents the agenda of criminals, and like it or not, illegal aliens (especially those who are employed in America) are criminals, repeat offenders who deserve what the law calls for, which is deportation back to their home countries.

Sadly, the Latino community and the tens of millions of illegal aliens in this country have so far successfully made the issue of illegal immigration one of race and human rights when it is actually a matter of law, a matter of seeing that America for all Americans and citizens of the world is a "Nation of Laws", rather than a nation that enforces laws only when it is convenient to enforce them.  Federal laws as written should require strict enforcement of our immigration laws, with both border and interior enforcement.  Further, our laws dictate that ANYONE hiring illegal aliens is also breaking the law, and enforcing those laws against employers, be they individuals or companies would see the job magnet that attracts illegal aliens shut off, and if there are no jobs for those in America illegally, then they for the most part will SELF DEPORT.

It also provides the means by which certain aliens can become legally naturalized citizens with full rights of citizenship. Immigration law serves as a gatekeeper for the nation’s border, determining who may enter, how long they may stay, and when they must leave.

Making the Dream Act a part of the Democratic National Convention Platform might appease and placate the supposed Latino voting block, but how many non Latino voters sitting on the fence will see such inclusion of the Dream Act as cause to reconsider their vote in what will be a close race for the White House.  7.5 Million illegal aliens hold down jobs in the American economy, while some 16 million legal American citizens are out of work or under employed...many of those unemployed Americans would be working now if our government (local, state and federal) were doing their jobs, were enforcing our laws on the books.  So far, special interest groups representing illegal aliens and corporate interest who want cheaper wages have been able to convince politicians to cater to the agenda of those who support AMNESTY for illegal aliens...including the Dream Act in the Democratic Convention Platform could change that as Main Street Americans standing on unemployment lines say, "ENOUGH ALREADY".

Lets make America a nation of laws for everyone by ENFORCING OUR LAWS, and lets stop kowtowing to a criminal element (illegal aliens) by including in the Democratic National Convention Platform endorsement of the Deam Act which is AMNESTY by any other name.

Supreme Court Sides With Illegal Aliens

In a 5-3 vote, the Supreme Court sides with Illegal Aliens, trashes Arizona enforcement law.

The Supreme Court says states do not have a right to interfere with the Federal Government when it comes to illegal aliens, and the enforcement of our laws.  So, if the federal government wants to pick and choose which parts of our laws to enforce, if our federal government wants to allow illegal aliens to stay in America illegally, there is nothing the states can do about it.  

What happened to America being a NATION OF LAWS?  Illegal Aliens can steal a persons identity, and that is OK, but lets arrest American Citizens for say smoking a dubbie, lets put a mother in prison because you stole a loaf of bread to feed her children, but illegal aliens breaking our laws, stealing our jobs...THAT IS FINE.

Perhaps it is time for states to consider leaving the union?  Perhaps it is time for states like Arizona to enforce their immigration laws as written, and tell the federal government to bring in federal military troops if they want them to stop...yes, I am one American who is tired of illegal aliens having SPECIAL RIGHTS because our federal government is not doing its job.  One ray of hope...Arizona can demand that illegal aliens prove they are here legally if they are stopped for other criminal activity.

Meanwhile, wanting to soak in the limelight a few days longer, the Supreme Court is not going to tell us the fate of Obama Care until Thursday.

Kowtowing To Special Interests in Presidential Election...What About us White Voters?

Let us be clear....last week Obama gave out back door Amnesty to some 800,000 plus illegal aliens in the name of politics...he pandered to a special interest voting block.  Turn on any network news show, and you will hear about this special interest group or that...just now CNN ran a report on the important role that "Latino Mom's" will play in this election, and why the candidates should be paying more attention to them and their concerns.  Business owners, the uber rich and religious special interests all get attention.  Latino's and their various camps get special attention, so forth and so on, and story after story talks about the special role each of these groups can/will play in deciding who wins the White House this fall.

Meanwhile, there seems to be a block of voters who are being taken for granted...WHITE PEOPLE.  In the last Presidential Election, over 70 percent of votes cast were cast by white voters...so where is our attention, and why aren't the politicians pandering to us, listening to our concerns.  The gays saw "Don't ask don't tell" abolished, saw Obama state publicly that he supports gay marriage.  The Republicans are extending and deepening the recession by holding up any legislation that would increase taxes on the rich, and Obama tossed out an executive order that back door defacto passed the Dream Act, and yet there seems to be NOTHING for the largest voting block in America, and someone needs to ask why.

Obama and Romney rarely come to New York for anything other than fund raising, making appearances at events that cost $40,000 a seat...what about an event for us average Joe's and Jane's where we could sit down and talk with the candidates over a burger and a beer at say $25 a plate...oh wait, silly me, the American Electoral process is controlled by BIG MONEY, manipulated by big corporations who are after all people too...just ask Mitt, he'll tell you that it's true.  We the people have been usurped by a new phrase, We the well heeled, the uber rich having access, while the rest of us find ourselves accepting edicts from on high that most of us do not support.

People from all 50 states elect a president, people from every walk of life, and from every ethnicity elect the president, yet the largest voting block in America, the white voter, is being ignored, our interests taking a back seat to the interests of small special interest groups...just because keeping taxes low on the uber rich is good for the uber rich does not make it good for us average folks, and granting Amnesty to 800,000 illegal aliens may be good for the Latino voting block, but is it good for the MAJORITY OF AMERICANS, and is that Amnesty what the largest voice in America wants? 

Perhaps it is time for the white voters to find our voice, time for us to demand a place at the table.  It is simply unfair to have a situation where elections are won and lost on the edges, unfair for the fringe to move their agendas forward at great detriment to the larger whole because politicians know they can take the white vote for granted, know it will split its voting block along given fault lines, and so can be ignored, taken for granted...maybe it is time that we form a super pac, time for us to choose one man for president, go to the voting booths, and write that name down, ignoring both Obama and Romney, throwing down the gauntlet that says, "No longer can you take our vote for granted, no longer will we the true majority be ignored.

Let us throw the two party system into disarray, let us push a third candidate into the spotlight, a candidate who will speak our voice while putting both parties and all politicians on notice...ignore us, take our votes for granted at your own peril...let us end the days when a small handful of states and a few special interest groups get all of the attention.

Grateful Illegal Aliens Under 30

First, this author supports LEGAL IMMIGRATION to the United States of America.  Secondly, there is a world of difference between immigration and migration, a world of difference between a legal immigrant, and an ILLEGAL ALIEN.  Secondly, think we need to take a look at just what DHS considers a law abiding person...illegal aliens, regardless of age, regardless of how they came to America are criminals, most of them guilty of multiple violations of our laws.  Secondly, the overwhelming number of serious crimes committed by illegal aliens are committed by those under 30 years of age.

Watching CNN's coverage of Obama's policy change, listening to the pundits go on about how this is a game changer for so many young immigrants I found myself amused at one of the illegal aliens they trotted out to the camera as a person who stands to benefit from this policy change, is likely to get a deferment.  Let's look at some facts that became readily apparent as she and the reporter had their little interview:

A)  It was not readily clear that this person had brought herself over, or her parents had brought her here.
B)  As if often the case, her immigration status (illegal alien) became apparent when she was in a traffic accident, and was cited for a violation by the police...whoops, make that MULTIPLE violations.  First, she disobeyed basic traffic laws meant to keep everyone on the road safe, which led to the accident.  Furthermore, she HAD NO LICENSE...ignoring anything and everything else, that is multiple misdemeanors right out of the door.
C)  She was and has been working...with a false ID, or under the table, both are crimes.  How many Americans have faced serious fines, probation or even prison time for failure to pay our Federal Taxes?

President Obama wants to paint these young ILLEGAL ALIENS as just people like the rest of us who are wanting to live the American Dream, and perhaps a small handful of them are in sincere...however, a great many of the illegal aliens thwart our system of laws routinely, knowingly and deliberately while pundits falsely tell us that the crimes of being and illegal alien and doing what they need to do to get by are victimless crimes. Some facts to ponder.

1.  Identity theft   happens all the time in the illegal alien communities...this is not a victimless crime, and if you have had the misfortune of having your identity stolen by an illegal alien, you know the costs and trouble of trying to get it back.  Many Illegal Alien Advocates try to push this crime under the proverbial rug by saying the illegal aliens did not STEAL THE ID, but merely purchased it from somewhere else.  Hello, purchasing and using a ID you know is FAKE is a SERIOUS CRIME.  Recommend you read the GAO report on the serious problem of illegal aliens stealing/use false identification to STEAL AMERICAN JOBS.

2.  A dark side of the illegal alien population our government does not want you to be aware of...a large number of illegal aliens are A) involved in serious criminal behaviors, and B) are sexual predators.  If you are robbed by an illegal alien, have your car hit by an unlicensed uninsured illegal alien, or you or one of your family members is violently raped by an illegal alien, it is a serious matter.  Yet, Obama and the DHS want to simply ignore our laws and hand out what amounts to Amnesty to over 800,000 people that DO NOT BELONG HERE.

3.  From killing cops to raping innocent citizens, illegal aliens are involved in a plethora of criminal activities including such crimes involving cocaine, methamphetamine, home invasion, auto insurance fraud, life insurance fraud, food stamp fraud, mortgage fraud, auto theft, drug trafficking, prostitution, more prostitution, and, of course, counterfeiting documents to name a few...and court records would show us that most of these crimes by illegal aliens are being committed by illegal aliens UNDER THE AGE OF 30...the very group being granted AMNESTY.

*note-27% of all prisoners in Federal custody are criminal illegal aliens and the majority (63%) of those are Mexican citizens.

*note-in fiscal 2004, the Federal govt. spent $1.4 billion to incarcerate criminal aliens. This total included $280 million of reimbursements made to state and local governments under the State Criminal Alien Assistance Program [SCAAP] - a Department of Justice program managed by the Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) - but SCAAP funds cover less than 25% of the full cost of incarcerating criminal aliens, leaving the balance of 75% to be picked up by the local jurisdiction.

We do not need an executive order granting a blanket AMNESTY to 800,000 to over a million illegal aliens, we do not need the dream act...what we need is ENFORCEMENT OF OUR CURRENT LAWS, what we need is criminal illegal aliens being held to the same standards as everyone else.  The girl on the news who was involved in an accident, who was driving without a license, and probably driving without insurance does not deserve a deferment leading to eventual citizenship, she needs to be DEPORTED.  Any illegal alien who has worked off the books and avoided federal taxes needs to be DEPORTED, and any illegal alien who has used a FAKE ID to get a job should be deported.  Couple these three enforcement actions with harsh penalties for anyone hiring and illegal alien here in America, and you will have your Immigration Reform, as most illegal aliens will self deport if America cracks down hard on them, and shuts down the jobs magnet.

So, lets stop playing games, lets stop trying to rebrand criminal as immigrants looking for a break, and call these criminals what they are...ILLEGAL ALIENS, and lets take the steps to see that they are rounded up and deported...trust me, as much as the media tells you it cannot be done, it can be.  If we can put our own young adults in prison for possessing pot, surely we can deport illegal aliens who are breaking our laws every day they are in America unlawfully...ENFORCEMENT, NOT CODDLING!

Some Facts On Hard Working HONEST ILLEGAL ALIENS

GAO released a report on a study of 55,322 illegal aliens incarcerated in federal, state, and local facilities during 2003. It found the following:

Of the 55,322 illegal aliens studied, researchers found that they were arrested a total of 459,614 times, averaging about 8 arrests per illegal alien.

• They were arrested for a total of about 700,000 criminal offenses, averaging about 13 offenses per illegal alien.
• 49% had previously been convicted of a felony, 20% of a drug offense; 18% a violent offense, and 11%, other felony offenses.
• 81% of the arrests occurred after 1990
• 56% of those charged with a reentry offense had previously been convicted on at least 5 prior occasions.
• Defendants charged with unlawful reentry had the most extensive criminal histories. 90% had been previously arrested. Of those with a prior arrest, 50% had been arrested for violent or drug-related felonies.

Note the last two points – they mean the perpetrators were "previously deported." Regardless, ALL those crimes would have never happened, i.e. were preventable, with serious deportation of the illegal aliens already here and proper border security to prevent both entry and re-entry.

In reviewing those numbers, note that the study only sampled about 21% of the incarcerated illegal aliens. To get the full extent of the collateral damage, we need to extrapolate the average number of offenses out across all 267,000 incarcerated illegal alien criminals. Doing so results in some 1,288,619 crimes!

In Name of Winning Election, Obama Wrongfully Grants Amnesty To ILLEGAL ALIENS

In breaking news of a political nature...President Obama with the stroke of a pen is bypassing not only Congress, but the will of the people in basically using an executive order to pass the Dream Act on steroids. Get a CLUE OBAMA...you may be winning some Latino votes come November, but you will lose the vote of almost every America who's job has been stolen by illegal aliens, will lose the vote of every American in the the lower and middle class who find their wages DEPRESSED by illegal aliens to the tune of over $200 billion dollars a year.

This policy change will allow any illegal alien under 30 to stay in the country, and GET A GREEN CARD so they can start working legally.  This policy change means AMNESTY for at least 80 percent of the ILLEGAL ALIENS that are currently in America...and for what...TO BUY THE FALL ELECTION, or at least shore up his chances to win some states (Like Arizona and Colorado) that he needs to retain the White House.  This move will back fire on the president...fact, 75 percent of Americans embrace and support Arizona's tough immigration law, and there is a good chance the Supreme Court will uphold said law.  Like it or not, even if your parents brought you here, YOU ARE AN ILLEGAL ALIEN, and like it or not, the majority of illegal aliens under thirty who are in America CAME HERE ON THEIR OWN, and should be rounded up on buses and sent back to their home or origin...in most cases, Mexico.

Make no mistake...this is a political move to win states.  Furthermore, if all of the Illegal Aliens were deported, if they took their children back to their home countries with them, there would not be a significant Latino voting block to worry about.  I may be liberal, but not when it comes to GRANTING A BACK DOOR AMNESTY to CRIMINALS! 

Sunday "News on the Run" and Other Stuff

Was briefly outside enjoying a very spring like day here in downtown Mountaindale as we experience the ongoing non-winter winter.  I mean seriously, this has to be one of the warmer winters on record, and the extended weather forecast for the rest of the month shows ABOVE AVERAGE TEMPERATURES. The up and down and all around weird weather we are experiencing sees me nursing yet another winter cold.  I don't mind snow and frigid temperatures, just wish it would get cold and stay there for awhile so that we can all acclimate.

In news of a BIG NATURE for us here in our small hamlet...we finally have an ATM machine in town.  You can access it any time that Uccelli Restaurant is open.  Do wish there was a way it could be outside where we could access it 24/7, but it is nice to be able to go get a little cash for things like our laundromat without having to drive over to Woodridge or Rockhill.

Two other notes about Uccelli Restaurant:

1.  There is now live music every Friday night.

2.  Every Saturday evening stop by Robert's Prime Rib special...it's TASTY.

Sunday "News on the Run"

Whitney Houston has been buried, so hopefully my dearly loved news channels can get back to some normal programming.  Am I the only one that thought the coverage WAS WAY OVER THE TOP for a washed up, career over singer with a drug and alcohol abuse problem? Meanwhile, tonight on Piers Morgan, there is yet another special hour of Whitney Houston coverage.

Fracking is still a BIG TOPIC, and look for another major article on this important issue on this blog in the next day or two.

Like the spoiled school yard bully who got caught and finds himself in timeout, Iran is throwing a temper tantrum, cutting off its own nose to spite its face as they stop selling crude to France and Britain.  Guessing those sanctions are having more of an effect than they are letting on.

States pass TOUGH Immigration laws, and ILLEGAL ALIENS leave.  Courts wrongfully step in and gut those laws, and ILLEGAL ALIENS RETURN.  Just goes to show you, enforcement would actually work if the federal government and courts left it up to the states to enforce the federal laws that our federal government does not enforce.  So much for us being a nation of laws.

What a beautiful day outside...the snow last night is cleared off of our streets here in Mountaindale, while everything else is covered in a blanket of what, giving our little hamlet a picture post card feel, the sun seeing the crystals from the snow shining and sparkling like a field of diamonds.  We have more snow in the forecast for tonight, turning to rain tomorrow...that troublesome forecast of ICE PELLETS again rearing its ugly head, which would not bode well for tomorrow night's Salsa Dancing.  My understanding is the event will be moved to Sunday (January 22) if the weather refuses to cooperate tomorrow night.

Friday "News on the Run"

Perhaps in the biggest news of the day, is Mitt Romney suddenly self destructing right before our eyes?  Mr. Big MoJo suddenly does not seem quite the candidate he was just a few days ago, and it is looking as if Mr (open marriage) Gingrich could pull off a stunning upset victory in South Carolina...or not.  Lets face it, all of the networks have spent a lot of money HYPING the Republican Primary season only to have it fizzle as one candidate after another self destructed, leaving Romney the winner by default...perhaps he still is, but he sure looked weak in the debate last night, while Gingrich has a couple of sterling moments that are creating quite the buzz.  Looking at Governor Arnold, John McCain, Newt Gingrich, and of course the pizza guy, do affairs matter, and more importantly, is it time that the Republicans stop portraying themselves as the "Family Values" party?  Must be something in the water they drinking...fracking chemicals perhaps?

Seems you can break the law and not be punished...IF YOU ARE AN ILLEGAL ALIEN.  That's right, the Department of Homeland Security is rushing to cancel the deportations of some 1600 illegal aliens because they do not present a National Security Risk.  I am curious here Janet...you don't mind if I call you Janet do you?  Curious, if I forged some documents, stole a social security number, borrowed someone else's credit history, and got a job I was not really entitled to, as a LEGAL CITIZEN of the United States, if I got caught would the Department of Homeland Security moved quickly to dismiss charges that might have been brought against me?...oh, never mind, sure I would be tossed in prison for awhile, but if I were an illegal alien, different story...right?

In news we are not hearing a lot of from CNN (they and their parent company are in support of it), seems that SOPA vote has been postponed by Reid.   

Anonymous teaches the feds a lesson...The justice department wrongfully shut down the 72nd largest site on the internet (Megaupload), criminally charged numerous employees...wasting no time at all, the folks at Anonymous SHUT DOWN the Justice Department and FBI websites.  Maybe the US government needs to realize the WEB BELONGS TO THE PEOPLE, not the United States government!  The feds are treating the "distributed denial of service" (DDoS) attack as malicious...here is a clue...it was a PROTEST, an exercise of ones Civil Rights.  Oh, but sure you folks would love to say a whole bunch of angry citizens suddenly visiting one site is against the law now, wouldn't you?

Saturday Weather, and "News on the Run"

It is a bit overcast outside my front door here in Mountaindale, but otherwise we are in for what can only be called beautiful, unseasonably warm January weather through at least Thursday of this coming week. No snow in sight, and day time temperatures should be on average up in the low 40's, which is almost shorts weather for this citizen. Thinking some walks are in order to get the blood circulating, and to maybe snap a few pictures.

This week we lost a familiar face here in Mountaindale as Wes passed away from a recently diagnosed cancer. Going to miss walking past his place, seeing him outside puttering around his place, his cat across the street relaxing on the school house lawn.

My colonoscopy went well yesterday, though being honest, do not remember much past being rolled into the operating room...once the white stuff started flowing into my veins, I was out like a light. They found two very large precancerous polyps, so sitting on the proverbial pins and needles here waiting for official results on Wednesday or Thursday. Benign is the word I am wanting to hear when the phone call comes in...we shall see. Either way, the doctor's words when I came too are a sure fire reminder that I am getting older, even if I loath having to admit that fact.

First up...Obama for political reasons is WRONGFULLY wanting to grant a back door amnesty to some 12 million Illegal Aliens. I will be the first to admit, I have ZERO TOLERATION for those in America illegally, for those STEALING American Jobs...I know, surprising seeing as I am so liberal in most of my views. If Obama and illegal aliens want to keep families together, let the family return home with the law breakers. Time we take care of our own here in America, and time that the National Chamber of Commerce and its MEMBERS stop using illegal aliens in the job force to depreciate the American wage base...make E-Verify the law of the land, penalize all those who rent to, or hire illegal aliens. In these hard economic times, when so many Americans are out of work, our government has a responsibility to take care of our own, and Illegal Aliens ARE NOT OUR OWN...deportation of those working here illegally, and criminal prosecution of those renting to, or living here illegally (can we say enforcement of laws already on our books) will see the vast majority of illegals self deporting.

We can all breath a sigh of relief...after her 90 day contract ends, looks like Chelsea Clinton will be ending her association with NBC. This is no surprise if you followed her debut, which was in a word, "deplorable". A typical review...

The Washington Post's Hank Stuever wrote after it aired, "Either we're spoiled by TV's unlimited population of giant personalities or this woman is one of the most boring people of her era."

The NRC should follow Japan lead, and stop relicensing of aging, dangerous nuclear reactors like Indian Point. After the meltdowns this past year, the Japanese government is moving to decommission ALL REACTORS once they reach 40 years in age.

In local news...would encourage everyone to show their support for the "Members of the Landfield Avenue Synagogue" in Monticello this Sunday, January 8th. Burglars broke into the Synagogue making off with their Torah which is valued at $35,000. The "Support Rally" begins at 3 PM.

A lot of people don't realize that the team of the 80's (San Francisco) beat the Bengals in the final minutes of the Super Bowl for two of their four wins.

Saturday "News on the Run"

Christmas is coming at us fast, with only 14 shopping days left till Americans spend maybe two or three hours ripping into gifts that will take them most of 2012 to pay for. Maybe, just maybe it is time we rethink our approach to this holiday?

How many readers of this blog remember back to the days when Christmas truly was special, when there was not a sign of Christmas in the stores until the day after Thanksgiving? Perhaps I am wrong, but seems too many people see the Christmas and Hanukkah end of the year Holiday Season as obligation, as a chore filled with stress, rather than a beautiful special time and day to be spent with those you love. Watch the news, and you see announcers giving us a blow by blow by the numbers, burdening us with the knowledge that corporations were/are counting on us to put their companies in the black for the year. At every step of the way we are programmed to spend, spend and spend some more, feeling guilty if we do not do our duty to God and Corporation by going into debt in the name of keeping our economy moving.

Believe it or not, many of the traditions that we observe during the Christmas holiday season began way before the birth of Christ. Exchanging gifts, decorating trees, and the burning of the Yule log were all winter traditions that began before Christ was born, but were eventually incorporated into the holiday that became known as Christmas, and became part of Christmas history.

Just seems there has to be a better way to celebrate this important end of the year Holiday...I mean we hardly even say Christmas any more, choosing instead the politically correct terms of Merry Xmas and Happy Holidays. Imagine a movement to get back to the basics of the season. Baking cookies with Mom, getting a group of folks together to go out caroling around the neighborhood, adopting a family in need for the holiday, making sure their table is filled with the same bounty as your own. Just a thought...

Lets start with something light...on CNN they had a list of the top items shoplifted here in America during the holiday season. Number two on the list is Jameson Whiskey, and number one Filet Mignon.

While beef and whiskey are seeing popularity among shoplifters in the U.S., the same is not true on the global market. The most stolen food in the world, apparently: cheese.

In Boston, police moved in and trashed another Occupy Wall Street protest site, with at least 46 protesters arrested, though there was no violence. First Amendment rights trampled on, but no violence.

The Boston Globe says "a large force of officers swooped down" on the encampment, and forty arrests were made "in the lightning-swift operation." It quotes police as saying all were on trespassing charges.

Yet another reason to close Entergy's trouble plagued Indian Point reactors....radioactive water still leaking inside crippled Japanese reactors...authorities say the radioactive water is not leaking into the environment...YET.

Last year, Nuclear Regulatory Commission inspectors discovered design problems at the Fort Calhoun nuclear plant in Nebraska and the Indian Point nuclear plant in New York. In the former case, the NRC applied the most serious sanction levied against any reactor in 2010 and required the plant's owner to correct the problem. But at Indian Point, the NRC essentially shrugged and allowed the safety problem to go unsanctioned and uncorrected.

Last but not least, in Russia where average citizens seems to care, tens of thousands of people are protesting Putin voter fraud in Moscow...seems the only time we see tens of thousands protesting here in America is when the subject matter involves giving rights to "Illegal Aliens".

Friday News on the Run

News on the run has been hit and miss this week...Tuesday was spent at the NYDEC hearing on fracking, and because they made us all stand out in the rain, I for one caught a very nasty cold. The weather outside today is bright and sunny, with a nip in the air...a perfect kind of a day to head out to do some much needing Christmas shopping perhaps?

There have been two major stories in the way of breaking news that caught my attention on CNN this morning. In the first one, the Republicans have decided it is better too tax almost 100 million Americans in the middleclass, rather than tax the UBER RICH...sure that Newt is totally supportive of this action as the front runner in the Presidential Primary. I mean this is the same Newt that wants wealthy Americans to keep their cheap labor by granting illegal aliens AMNESTY. Shame on you Republicans.

The other story that is JUST BREAKING...unemployment has dropped down under nine percent! Would not get to excited, because a lot of those jobs people have are JUST FOR THE HOLIDAYS, but there is something symbolic in having our national unemployment numbers under that nine percent barrier. We created 120,000 jobs in November...that is only 2400 jobs in each of our 50 states. HELLO...Christmas Time, and the best we can do is create 2400 jobs during the shopping rush, but everyone wants to jump up and down and shout with JOY. Dissect the numbers, and it is not enough.

Another BIG STORY...Apple Siri seems to be a Pro-Life technology...you can find yourself a strip club easy enough on the Siri, but try to find an abortion clinic, and seems none can be found.

The Senate passed a $662 billion Defense bill Thursday evening after a long fight over how the U.S. military detains terror suspects.

The bill passed overwhelmingly 93-7, following an agreement reached late Thursday afternoon to add compromise language on the detention of U.S. citizens and terror suspects on U.S. soil.
