Are You Part of The 47 Percent of Americans Who See Themselves As Victims That Romney Could Care Less About?

I would be doing better if I were Latino
Laying here under the weather, and doing what I always do when I find myself snuggled in...watching CNN as the news junkie that I am.  Seems that someone recorded Mitt Romney at a private fund raiser for well heeled FAT CATS...think UBER RICH.  He had some rather explosive things to say, seems to be actually mocking and insulting those who support him...think SENIOR CITIZENS.  Lets share here his most explosive statement:
Mitt Romney essentially wrote off 47 percent of the population who he said will always support the president because they “believe that they are victims, who believe the government has a responsibility to care for them, who believe that they are entitled to health care, to food, to housing, to you-name-it. That that’s an entitlement. And the government should give it to them. And they will vote for this president no matter what…These are people who pay no income tax. ”

OK, lets dissect this...For all those senior citizens who are planning on voting for Romney, PAY ATTENTION HERE.

1.  Do you, or will you collect social security?  If you answer yes to this question, you are a part of that 47,48 or 49 percent who see themselves as victims, who want a FREE RIDE compliments of Uncle Sam and the United States government.  NEVER MIND THAT YOU PAID INTO SOCIAL SECURITY FOR OVER FORTY YEARS!

2.  Do you get Medicare as a Senior Citizen?  OMG, do you see yourself as a victim, do you see yourself as someone expecting the government to give you something you have not earned, but instead are entitled too?  Hello, again if you are on Medicare, YOU EARNED IT, paid into the system for over 40 years so that Medicare would be there when you retired!

3.  Do you have a child, parent or other relative with serious medical issues, who is disabled that receives some kind of government assistance?  IE, think about our 50,000 troops who have been injured in the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.  If you are someone that falls into this category, if one of your loved ones does, you fall into this category of people that Romney DOES NOT CARE ABOUT?  In his words, you see yourself as a victim, you expect and even demand that the government give you a FREE HANDOUT!

4.  Have you, or anyone you know ever needed foodstamps?  Romney does not care for you!

If you, someone you love falls into any of these categories, this is what Mitt Romney went on to say in that private fund raiser about you....
“My job is not to worry about those people,”... “I’ll never convince them they should take personal responsibility and care for their lives.”
Hello seniors...you worked your entire lives, paid into the system, paid into both the Medicare and Social Security systems so that those benefits would be there for you when you retired...now Mitt Romney is saying it is not his job to worry about you, and even worse, he is saying (basically) that you are a FREE LOADER who does not take responsibility for yourself, is saying you do not care about your own lives.  Yet, you are going to vote for him?  REALLY?

Faced with his own remarks, Romney DID NOT APOLOGIZE...all he had to say, is that maybe he could have made his statements in a more politically correct fashion!   Come on folks...WAKE UP...it is time to toss this out of touch with reality spoiled rotten rich asshole under the bus..

Hurricane Bearing Down on Republican Convention...Sign From God?

We are a divided nation, and Washington DC is in gridlock as Republicans in Congress do everything they can to thwart any ideas that would improve the economy before the November Elections...the Republicans have spent the last two years tossing America's middle and lower classes under the bus in the name of winning the White House, seeing us as nothing more than acceptable collateral damage in a WIN AT ALL COST race to put themselves back in power so that they can perpetrate their Radical Right Wing Tea Party Agenda on the nation.

This past Sunday Todd Akin exposed an ugly truth about the party, showed Americans the dark and sinister under belly of the party that wants to send women back to the day when they are bare foot, pregnant and in the kitchen.  Todd Akin has shown that the Republican Party is full of radical religious zealots with an agenda that runs contrary to the will of the people...which does make one wonder as a tropical storm/soon to be hurricane sets its sites on Tampa...is God  sending the Republicans a message?

I'm not an overly religious person, would not be one to jump to this conclusion, but we all know just how God Fearing some in the Republican Party really are, and if some of their thoughts on obeying the word of God are correct, it might stand too reason that God is sending them a sign that they have strayed to far off the path of righteousness in the name of politics, in the name of the Republican Party.  Perhaps God would support a woman's right to choose, especially in cases of Rape and Incest.  Perhaps God, like Nancy Reagan supports stem cell research and the lives it saves.  Perhaps a Hurricane taking a direct hit on Tampa, raining on Mitt Romney's parade is God's way of waking up the Republican Party, his way of telling them they have gone to far.

Or maybe this tropical storm is just a bit of bad luck that might put a damper on the Republican Party's National Convention.

Open Question To Mitt Romney About Bubble Boy Paul Ryan

Dear Mitt Romney:

I too am a BUBBLE BOY
I just watched you on CNN saying that one of your intimate cronies in the business community would like to see the Constitution of the United States amended in a way that candidates for the office of President should be required to have a minimum of three years corporate business experience.  You went on further to say that you agree with this position.

Since you agree with this line of reasoning, my question to you is as follows.

Paul Ryan's only job was working BRIEFLY as a consultant in his family's business.  The rest of his entire working career has been spent as a Washington insider, first working for Jack Kemp's Think Tank, and since the age of 29 serving in Congress...in short, if you agree that a candidate for President should have at least three years of actual  corporate business experience, what in God's name made you choose a Vice Presidential candidate (who is one step away from being President) that has ZERO BUSINESS EXPERIENCE?

Inquiring average middle class Americans want to know...OH...silly me, you and Ryan don't care about America's middle class, so guessing you will not show up here on my blog and answer this question.

Ryan Romney Ticket Set In Stone...Republicans Out To Destroy Middle Class To Save Rich and Elite

My Plan HELPS RICH PEOPLE
Woke up to the news that Romney had made his VP pick...one middle and lower class hating Paul Ryan.  Went out to the kitchen to watch this supposed BOLD MOVE unfold, and had to laugh when Mitt Romney himself announced Paul Ryan as THE NEXT PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES...the big moment muffed by the man with the plan himself.  Romney cannot stop tripping over his own tongue, and being honest, Paul Ryan and his Ryan Plan for America is flat out scary if you find yourself in the lower or middle class, are a senior citizen or soon to be senior citizen counting on Medicare, if you are a woman, or if you are a minority.  What these two men both hold in common?  Tax cuts for the uber rich, and balancing the budget by punishing every one else, cutting social programs for the less fortunate.

So, the Republicans have officially laid out their plan for America, set it in stone this morning...if we send Ryan and Romney to the White House, allow Republicans to continue having control of the Congress, all of us in the lower in middle class can look to a future where we, where are children are slaves to the man, we can look forward to an America that has returned to the days of the Company Store.

I would encourage EVERY AMERICAN to carefully read the Paul Ryan Budget Plan.

America...World's Largest Banana Republic

A bold statement and declaration, and to help make the point, let us first put forth some definitions which make the case.

A banana republic is a politically unstable country that economically depends upon the exports of a limited resource (fruits, minerals), and usually features a classed society — a large, impoverished working class and a ruling plutocracy, the rich elites of business, politics, and the military

Plutocracy (from Ancient Greek πλοῦτος, ploutos, meaning "wealth", and κράτος, kratos, meaning "power, dominion, rule") is rule by the wealthy, or power provided by wealth.

Game, set and match, but let us delve further into the subject of America as a Banana Republic.  This year, we have a Presidential Election where most Americans votes do not really count.  Here in New York it seems a foregone conclusion that our state will be put into the Blue Column, and so neither candidate for the highest position in the country spends scarce time here, the time they do spend here spent in closed, invite only fund raising events for the uber rich elite, those who can afford to buy a seat at the table.  Rich elites of politics seems to personify Mitt Romney whose personal wealth exceeds $250 million dollars, over $200 million of it accumulated in offshore accounts where he pays almost nothing in taxes.  Obama is poor by Mitt Romney's standards, and yet he has already been bought and paid for by the wealthy ruling class (just look at how much he and Romney have raised from the uber rich for their campaign coffers)...one has to ask the question, "Why even bother voting when we have no real voice?"

Fox News, CNN, MSNBC...does not matter which network you choose to watch, when it comes to our American system of government, the announcers are admitting that the system has been rigged for decades to benefit those in the wealthy ruling class, breaking news out almost every day admitting the simple truth that the American lower and middle class are being gamed.  JP Morgan lost over $5 Billion dollars of the average Americans investments so far this year while the banking and investment lobbyist spend hundreds of millions of dollars lobbying Washington, telling our elected officials that regulation of their industry is bad for (drum roll please) THE UBER RICH.

American Exports...for the most part America no longer has what could be called a true industrial infrastructure, the rich having convinced us that it is in our best interest to shop jobs overseas so that they can produce and sell us CHEAPER MORE AFFORDABLE GOODS...curious here, if we have no jobs, if our wages are stagnant and/or depressed because there are no longer any good paying jobs, does the price of the goods being offered to us really matter, and if we are not producing goods, have we not placed our nation in a position of having exports of a limited resource (fruits, minerals)...NATURAL GAS, the last one of which is supposed to make us energy independent, and yet being exported to places like China and India.

Obama and the Democrats proposed keeping Bush Era tax cuts in place for 98 percent of Americans, while rolling back the tax cuts for the UBER RICH supposed job creators.  Curious...the rich may create jobs, but isn't it through the hard work and sweat of the average Main Street American that wealth is created, yet distributed unfairly?  Republicans oppose this roll back of taxes on the uber rich, claiming that the rich pay more than their fair share of taxes already, the richest ten percent carrying about 45 percent of the tax burden of our nation...that argument SOUNDS PRETTY CONVINCING on the surface, but lets examine it further.

For starters, Americans control/own 27 percent of the ENTIRE World's wealth....wealth being defined as actual assets one owns, such as property, natural resources, tangible property and liquid cash assets and other financial instruments.  Fold Canada into the mix and these two North American nations control just about 35 percent of the world's wealth.  The 27 percent of the world's true wealth held by America is not distributed fairly...as example, from 1990 to 2005 (adjusted for inflation) saw the average CEO's salary increase by 300 percent, while in that same time period the production worker's salary rose by only 4.3 percent here in America.

Median compensation for CEO's in all industries as of early 2010 is $3.9 million; it's $10.6 million for the companies listed in Standard and Poor's 500, and $19.8 million for the companies listed in the Dow-Jones Industrial Average. Since the median worker's pay is about $36,000, then you can quickly calculate that CEOs in general make 100 times as much as the workers, that CEO's of S&P 500 firms make almost 300 times as much, and that CEOs at the Dow-Jones companies make 550 times as much.

The richest ONE PERCENT of Americans own 35 percent of America's total wealth, which means that one percent also owns almost nine percent of the ENTIRE World's wealth.  If you take the top ten percent of Americans wealthy and elite, they own/control over 80 percent of America's total net worth/wealth and yet collectively only pay about 65 percent of the taxes collected by the IRS.  If your group through a rigged system controls/owns 80 percent of America's wealth, should not your group be paying 80 percent of ALL TAXES COLLECTED?  In a fair system the answer is yes, but sadly America no longer has a fair system, tragically we now live in a Banana Republic where most of us have been reduced to serfdom, barely subsisting on the meager wages paid by those in the top ten percent as they work ever harder at owning more and more of the pie, even if to do so means rigging the system in a way that allows them to steal what little wealth the lower and middle class have managed to accumulate.

What can we do about it?

1.  Strengthen unions...say what you want about unions, but they fight to protect workers rights, fight to see that average Americans in the work force get a fair day's pay (living wage) for a hard day's work.  The Republicans and Wall Street elite want to make unions obsolete, sent the way of the Dodo bird, and if Main Street Americans allow that to happen, we truly will become slaves of THE MAN.

2.  Work toward creating additional political parties here in America so that we can force Washington to seek compromise and consensus between dispirited groups.  Almost an impossible task since the Democrats and Republicans have passed over 2500 laws that throw road blocks up in the path of any group trying to become a third political party.

3.  Stop electing the uber rich to office.  Wealthy people will never represent the best interests of the majority, but instead will pass laws that protect their wealth, and the wealth of their friends who have curried favor by purchasing it through generous donations to the campaign coffers of those willing to do their bidding at the peril of the majority.

4.  Stop supporting and electing both Democrats and Republicans.   Recruit and support for office people like yourselves...the owner of your local mom and pop store, your small town garage owner (rather than the guy who owns the large dealership), or a working mother who struggles every day to put food on the table for her children.  In short, even if you have to do a write in vote, start electing AVERAGE AMERICANS into office locally, statewide, and to national office.  When we elect AVERAGE AMERICANS, average Americans in office will actually begin again doing the People's BUSINESS.

5.  Take our voices out into the streets...yes, am talking about exercising our First Amendment Rights, not in small handfuls, but in groups of a hundred thousand or more. As long as we remain meek,  as long as we remain silent, huddled in our homes afraid to speak, our lot will not change, business as usual on Wall Street, and on Capital Hill will continue on as the rich get richer, and the American Middle Class is destroyed.

6.  Band together, and support your small local merchants rather than spending what little money you have in the large chain stores such as Walmart, Sam's Club or the large Mega Malls.  Fact is, money SPENT LOCALLY stays local.

Super Tuesday "News on the Run"

OMG...today is all about politics...or at least the pundits, CNN and FOX News would have us believe today should be all about politics with Ohio the big fish that both Romney and Santorum are trying to land.  Meanwhile, Newt Gingrich has pinned his hopes on winning Georgia where polls show him leading going into today, but we all know how reliable those polls are.

Who wins Ohio depends on the voters, and how much they believe Romney's stump speech about jobs, jobs and more jobs.  Personally, I think Romney was born with a platinum spoon up his ass, that he is the proverbial spoiled little rich kid that cares only about his OWN KIND...those who are SUPER RICH, or who are SUPER MORMON.  His economic plan is all about TAX CUTS for the UBER RICH combined with federal budget cuts in programs that will negatively impact the SUPER POOR, which is the fastest growing segment of the United States population these days.

Mr. Women Should be Barefoot and Pregnant (that would be Rick Santorum) should be given credit where credit is due.  He has been able to keep the anyone but Mitt Train on the track and moving forward longer than any of the other pretenders to the throne, and he has made it easier for the Democrats to hold control of the White House by pulling Mitt Romney every further to the right in his views.  Good job Rick, and as someone who would not vote FOR ANY OF THE REPUBLICANS this year, I thank you for that last part.

As for the Newtster...well, as the old 1973 Empress Glady's & The Pips hit song says, "He has taken that Midnight Train to Georgia hoping he can carry the state of his political roots...if he loses there, look for him to announce the end of his campaign in the next couple of days.

In news of a local nature...has anyone else noticed that the UGLY OLD graffiti laden freight trailers (all but one) in the old lumber yard have gone?  The view from our "Rails to Trails" corridor is so much improved with those now removed.  So, to whomever is making that happen, THANK YOU.

Wednesday "News on the Run" Whitney Funeral Service to Be Intimate Affair....NOT!

Woke up to flurries this morning as the streets of downtown Mountaindale were covered up in a thin layer of the white stuff.  Everything always looks so fairytale like during a snow storm, even one that is depositing well less than one inch of snow on the ground.  Our weather forecast calls for the day to get warmer (45) with these flurries turning to rain with an 80 percent chance of precipitation.  Thinking it is a great day to curl up on the sofa with a good book and a cup of hot chocolate.

The news channels are still doing their Whitney Houston 24/7 wall to wall coverage, informing us this morning that the Houston Family will be holding a small private service in Newark, New Jersey this Saturday FOR 1500 PEOPLE, most of them stars and notables.  Come on, a funeral service with 1500 people inside, and a large JUMBO screen outside for fans to watch IS NOT A SMALL PRIVATE FAMILY AFFAIR!  Secondly, ask yourselves...until her untimely demise, how often in the past ten years had Houston been in the news in a big way?  Almost never?  Now all of a sudden, we are being forced to endure eight days of wall to wall Whitney Houston?  Enough already.  I also question the governor of New Jersey's decision to order all state flags flown at half mast to honor the passing of a woman who in death was/is a drug addict and alcoholic if the stories in the press are too be believed.

Politics...in the EVERYBODY GETS A TURN ON TOP Republican Primary, seems it is Santorum's turn to be on top as National Polls show him in a dead heat with Mitt Romney, and leading in the polls for both Ohio and Michigan as their primary days get ever closer.  Could this be the greatest collapse and burn of a ordained Republican Presidential Nominee, or instead will Republicans fall in line and send Mitt limping into the Fall Presidential Race?  Even DOGS don't like Romney!

How convenient...gas prices are going up, giving the Natural Gas industry more propaganda materials as they try to sell us on accepting FRACKING in our communities...it is the patriotic responsibility of those of us living atop huge reserves of shale gas to allow companies to come in and ruin our environments, water and health.

Brrrrr...It is SO FREAKING COLD....and of Course, Friday "News on the Run"

Brrrr....DANG, it is seriously cold outside, especially with the howling winds blowing down Main Street, the tattered awnings outside my window fluttering in the breeze.   Not saying it is cold out, but my car doors were frozen solid...took 10 minutes to get in.    This weather will seem like a CAKE WALK by tomorrow night when it is supposed to go down to single digits...as in 2 DEGREES!  So much for that theory I was working on about a mild winter.

To my local friends (Mike, Mark, Patty and Iris) who gave me venison this year, thank you so very much.  Having two small steaks for dinner this evening, and it is ever so tasty.  Pan cooked, some capers, Bermuda onion, herbs, spices, and some Merlot...OMG...so simple, yet so very good...did I mention garlic?

A local recommendation...went over to 2 Good Guys Auto Repair the other day to get a couple of new tires and a oil change.  Great folks, great work, and the price was very reasonable as well.  Give them a call at (845) 434-4107...they do towing to (nice to know in winter)...the towing number is (845) 428-0174.

Friday "News on the Run"

The big news for those of us here in New York (besides the weather) involves FRACKING.  Seems that the US EPA beat the comments submission deadline by a scant three hours, and they have quite a bit to say, much of it ANGERING THE INDUSTRY.  Seems like many of us, they do not feel some of the rules go far enough, and specifically, they are calling for LARGER setbacks for our drinking water, while the industry (big surprise) wants even smaller set backs when it comes to protecting our water.  When I ponder the industry's wishes, why does the phrase, "Take a hike" jump quickly to mind.  Could it have anything to do with the fact that I know they are LYING to us?

In his harshest attacks yet on Mitt Romney's job creation claims, Newt Gingrich LAUGHED at him today in Miami...in breaking news...When Newt Gingrich smiled, his face cracked.  In all seriousness, even though I despise Mitt Romney, sure he is having the last laugh knowing that Newt is not n the ballot in his own home state of Virginia where he has lived since becoming a perennial Washington, DC insider.

A report that made me smile...seems that Apple, who has no clue when it comes to customer service (waving at RW), also has no problems with its supply chain (manufacturing locations) having some pretty horrid work place practices!  Maybe it is time everyone seriously considers boycotting Apple till they can get their customer service and production issues resolved in a HUMANE FASHION?

Thursday "News on the Run"...Editorial

We had a nice snow overnight that is turning into an icy slush as a cold biting rain hammers our little hamlet, the sound of snow removal equipment waking me to this new day, almost but not quite blanking out the sound of my TV as CNN brings me the morning's newest breaking news, which in most cases is nothing more than a rerun of news they previously brought to my attention.

One headline caught my attention...Santorum (perhaps positioning himself as VP, or a nod to some other job on the taxpayers backs) is defending Mitt Romney, saying attacks on his time at Bain Capital amount to a attack on Capitalism.   While rolling this concept around in my head, saw another article wherein the Pew Institute says there is a greater resentment/conflict growing between the rich and poor...I know, can we have a duh moment here (just give me the money they spent on that survey, and I could have told you that).

Could it be that both Santorum and the UBER RICH need to wake up to a basic reality?  Capitalism in its current form is not working for most Americans, few Reagan's trickle down economics nothing more than a cruel joke that kept the poor at bay for another years while the rich continue to get richer, stacking the deck in their favor at every step of the way.
Americans have traditionally been the most enthusiastic champions of capitalism.  Yet a recent American public opinion survey found that just 50 per cent of people had a positive opinion of capitalism while 40 per cent did not.  The disillusionment was particularly marked among young people 18-29, African Americans and Hispanics, those with incomes under $30,000 and self-described Democrats.

The American Dream taught to us was simple...if you worked hard, played by the rules you would get ahead in life, live comfortably, odds were good that your children would have a better life (style) than you had as a result of your efforts.  You were taught that being loyal to your employer would see your employer being loyal (and fair) to you.  Fact is, in 2012, that American Dream is all but DEAD.  The middle class is being decimated with each passing day, the richest getting ever richer, hard working Americans struggling just to keep a roof over their heads, and food on the plates of themselves and their family.  The few jobs that are out there pay a wage meant to see you barely surviving, paying you what amounts to SLAVE WAGES, all in the name of corporate profits and the bottom line.
According to the 2000 Census:
12.8% of US households lived on $25,000-$34,999 a year
12.8% of US households lived on $15,000-$25,999 a year
6.3% of US households lived on $10,000-$14,999 a year
9.5% of US households lived on less than $10,000 a year
This means that 44.1% of Americans lived on $34,999 or less a year even with both parents working FULL TIME.
There is no better example of Main Street America's anger with the UBER RICH (ruling class) than the "Occupy Movement" that spread across America this past fall.  That movement may be floundering in the winter winds, but look for the remaining embers to light a brush fire that spreads across America with the coming of spring, look for larger protests, and if the same tactics used to put a choke hold on the movement this past fall are used by police departments in the spring, perhaps protests will turn into open riots, as 150 years after the Civil War we again see Americans fighting Americans, brothers against brothers as the great uncleansed masses rise up and say, "ENOUGH".

Santorum's defense of Mitt Romney, his defense of Mitt's time at Bain Capital where he employed a scorched earth policy to the work force shows that he, nor Mitt Romney has a clue when it comes to the life and needs of Average Americans, shows them both unfit to hold political office, let alone hold the highest office in the land.  Millions of Americans have been disenfranchised, even though they want to work at a living wage, there are no jobs to be found, or if a job is too be found it pays a paltry wage, and is part time.  Sadness and despair are rapidly being replaced with anger, you can sense a deep seething hatred starting to bubble up too the surface as the tone of conversations outside  grocery stores, or in the local pub or bars is changing as people state boldly that something has to change, the words making it clear they feel sold out by those in government supposed to protect us, those who are supposed to keep the playing field relatively fair...it seems all the Republican candidates are ignorant of this growing rip in the fabric of America, and if truth be told, the Democrats are no better, both parties pandering to special interests, rather than doing what is RIGHT FOR THE NATION.

So You Want To Be In Politics?

So you want to be in politics, then you need to be rich like me...or is it the other way around, if you want to be rich you have to be in politics?  Other options?  Well, McCain married his gravy train, so suppose there are other options and avenues open and available.  Bottom line, ask yourselves one question...does someone in the upper one percent of the one percent really have the mental and emotional capabilities to represent the common man (or woman)?

Wednesday "News on the Run"

Sorry for the absence...been dealing with a few personal problems, such as having my living look like a scene from a bad movie while a section of my ceiling is repaired and re-plastered...fun, fun, fun.  Enjoy today's weather as it starts getting ugly this evening, and Thursday through Saturday does not look very good at all with freezing rain, sleet, and all around miserableness.  All in all though, we have been pretty darn lucky so far this winter...2.5 months still to go though, and we know we will get buried in snow before too long.

Wednesday "News on the Run"

The big news is no real news at all...Mitt Romney won in New Hampshire last night, and this morning all the pundits are on the airwaves telling all the Americans in the other 48 states that our votes don't matter, that the Republican Primary is now all but over.  The real news perhaps, is that controversial candidate Ron Paul came in a very STRONG second...on too the proverbial firewall, South Carolina.

The most trending of story of the morning...seems pot is actually safer for you than cigarettes are...in fact, one CNN reporter this morning compared it to Yoga, explaining that the breathing techniques in both smoking pot and Yoga are similar.

OMG...Hostess, maker of the Twinkie, that delicious cream filled sponge cake that would still taste fresh after a nuclear explosion is in BANKRUPTCY!  A sign of the times, carrot eating, tofu nibbling, drink a veggie smoothie healthy people putting a national treasure at risk of being no more...OH WOE IS ME.  The silver lining....we can all go out and buy a few cases and stick them down in the basement knowing they will still be there ready to eat when the grand kids come over.

FAA needs to just butt out and let the Whooping Cranes fly...OK, the this years grounded whooping cranes are going to be allowing too finish their migration to Florida, but the FAA never should have interfered to begin with, and needs to JUST BUTT OUT and let this group take care of saving this endangered species.

There is today's episode of "News on the Run" coming to you from DOWNTOWN Mountaindale NY.  I need to go put some sockies on and get on the road....just in time for tonight's ugly weather, having an oil change and putting two new tires on the car.  Have a great day everyone.

Mitt says, "No Fox News, I am not a Romeny!"

I may be Mormon, but not a Romeny
Romeny Says No to Gingrich Debate (Newsmax.com)  A Whoopsy Moment for Fox News, or for Newsmax.  Found this link rather funny...Romeny says no to Gingrich...not sure who made the blunder, but if you go look at the article title they got it right which leads me to believe the folks at Fox News screwed up.  Too see the error, go to the story on Boehner and look down at their "Also on Web" section.  Maybe Fox News was letting Sarah Palin's daughter Bristol do data entry again.

BETHLEHEM, N.H.  — Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney on Thursday spurned chief rival Newt Gingrich's challenge for a one-on-one debate in the run up to the Jan. 3 Iowa caucuses but dismissed the notion — suggested by the former House speaker — that he was afraid to participate in such a face-off.

Not Impressed With Republican Party Presidential Primary Candidates

Yesterday CNN was unfortunately falling all over itself to cover what amounted to a meet the Candidate Event down in South Carolina...what a serious waste of air time that ended up being for those of us who regularly tune in to CNN. Not trying to be mean here, but is this the best that the Grand Old Party has to offer the American people, and should we even care about politicians who are pandering to the Tea Party Extremists? Lets give you a quick run down from one person's perspective on the viable candidates (do they have one?).

Ron Paul-Let's get serious...his is not a realistic campaign, he has zero chance of being the standard barer for the Republican Party. He is basically the Republican Party's Ralph Nader.

Mitt Romney-in a word, Billionaire. In two words, Billionaire Mormon. This man will NEVER be the people's president, and he has no clue when it comes to what is best for the average American living on Main Street USA. His just released Job Plan for America...forget about it, it is the same old same old approach that relies upon Trickle Down Economics...Reagan is dead, and most Americans are still waiting for wealth to trickle down to our level.

Rick Perry-Four more years of George W. Bush from a guy that has Rod Blagojevich hair and angry disposition.

Michele Bachmann-Sure, America is going to elect a pro-life, gay hating, rabid right wing Tea Party darling as the Cheerleader in Chief...NOT!

Sarah Palin-doubt she is going to throw her dunce cap in the ring along with Michele, and let us not forget, "She can see Russia from her front porch." Ask yourselves just one question, "Do we want a QUITTER AND CHIEF sitting in the Oval Office? NEXT!

As for the rest of the pack, such un-notables as Rick Santorum and Newt Gingrich, the race for them is already over, and they are just to self important and absorbed to accept that fact yet.

For those who will be wondering, consider myself Independent only because both the Democrats and Republicans have made it almost impossible to have a third party in politics, let alone a fourth or fifth party, though having such parties would go a LONG WAY toward eliminating gridlock in Washington, DC.

Mitt Romney...Everything Corporations Make Eventually Goes To People...BLINK!

At the Iowa State Fair, Mitt Romney, presidential wannabe Billionaire responds to higher taxes on Corporations with the quote, "Everything Corporations Make Eventually Goes Too People."

Curious here Mitt...what people? The riches three percent of America's population that control over ninety percent of America's private wealth? People like yourself? Looking at the fact your response came in response to a query on the government meeting its responsibility and promises as relates to the social programs of Social Security and Medicare, is it your position that cutting benefits that citizens have already earned, already paid for should be cut rather than taxing the uber rich?

Isn't it the lower and middle class who work day in and day out, who do the HEAVY LIFTING that create those profits for corporations, with those profits then being given to only a very small percentage of people at the top of the food chain? I would greatly enjoy providing you an opportunity to explain yourself, your statement, here in our small rural hamlet of Mountaindale NY.
