If you heard a collective GASP rattling through the states of Ohio, West Virginia, Pennsylvania and New York, that was the (un)Natural Gas Industry as they listened to President Obama deliver
the words they feared hearing more than any other words from the leader of the FREE WORLD...
“We have a lot of natural gas here in this country,” Obama said.
“The problem is, is that extracting it from the ground (You can say FRACKING) the technologies aren’t as developed as we’d like and so there are some concerns that it might create pollution in our groundwater, for example."...uhhh...Mr. President, there is NO MIGHT about it.
“So we’ve got to make sure that if we’re going to do it, we do it in a way that doesn’t poison people,” he added.
Now folks, when the President of the United States says, "...IF we're going to do it, we do it in a way that doesn't poison people" everyone had better sit up and take notice. Let's dissect this for a moment. First, the President sees things in his Daily Briefing that we will never see...those things do not SUGAR COAT THE TRUTH. The President and his staff then decide what it is they have to share with the American People, and how BEST TO SHARE IT WITHOUT CAUSING WIDE SPREAD PANIC...in short, they usually candy coat hard to swallow TRUTHS.
Of, if the President is saying, "...IF we're going to do it, we do it in a way that doesn't poison people" he is saying, "Listen up Natural Gas Industry...the way you are going about extracting this commodity, this whole Slick Water Hydraulic-Fraturing is not only threatening the Safe Drinking Water of communities, it is also THREATENING HUMAN LIFE, and that has to STOP. If you cannot find a better way to get this resource out of the ground, then we simply cannot let you do it."
You heard your President today America, and he has said that Hydraulic Fracturing as currently being done IS HARMING OUR SAFE DRINKING WATER, and RISKING OUR LIVES. So, time to have a Nationwide Moratorium on Deep Ground Horizontal drilling using Hydraulic Fracturing until a means can be developed that does not include as collaterial damage our SAFE DRINKING WATER and OUR HEALTH.
