Western Sullivan Public Library Offers Free Classes

[NARROWSBURG] – A new series of free computer classes has been added at the Public Computer Center at the Narrowsburg Branch of the Western Sullivan Public Library. The series begins on December 5. The library hopes to attract individuals who are not available to attend classes during the working day, but the classes are open to all.

Many additional classes are also offered at the Jeffersonville and Callicoon library branches. The complete schedule is available at www.wsplonline.org/pcc.

Registration is required for each class at http://forms.wsplonline.org/coursereg.php or by calling one of the library branches. Attendance at every class in the series is not required. Patrons may pick and choose the most relevant courses. The Monday evening Narrowsburg series schedule is as follows from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. each night:

  • December 5 – Anatomy of the Computer: Getting Started, Part 1
  • December 12 – Anatomy of the Computer: Getting Started, Part 2
  • December 19 – File Management
  • January 2 – Surfing the Web
  • January 9 – You’ve Got Mail
  • January 16 – Intro to Multimedia
  • January 23 – Managing Photos 1
  • January 30 – Managing Photos 2

If participation warrants, the series will be continued in February with courses like: eBooks, Improving Your Google Search, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Digitizing Old Forms of Media, Job Search, GiMP (free alternative to Photoshop), and more.

All the services of the Public Computer Center (PPC) are free to the public. PCC consultants are available at each branch for assistance.
